While issues like popular media’s reinforcement of hegemonic ideology are a worthy focus for film criticism, these are not the droids we are looking for.
Our film club will approach content with wonderment, lightheartedness, curiousity, and joy. A true legion of alt femme geeks building a community around a love for storytelling.
Our focus will be on hidden meanings, filmic & literary allusion, homage, story tropes, the elements of film (e.g. how lighting, editing, framing, sound etc deepen the overall meaning of a story), trivia, and fan content.
